Send as many photos as you like - we need a good selection to pick the ones that work best with your design. Don’t worry about cropping or editing, we’ll do that.

To help you take great pictures of your baby here are some hints and tips:

1. Make sure the baby is in focus! Fuzzy pictures will only disappoint your family and friends.

2. Try to use the natural light in your home.
Put your baby near a large window, put your back to that window and have your baby facing you. If you shoot towards a bright light it may make your baby appear dull and in shadow.

3. Avoid using the camera’s flash, if possible, to prevent red-eye and harsh shadows.

4. Keep it simple. A picture with lots of objects in focus will detract from the picture you want everyone to be smiling about. Try to put your baby in clothes without patterns or large logos and on a plain background. A blanket or towel draped over a sofa can work really well. Babies also look adorable in knit hats because it shows off their beautiful eyes.
  5. Take your pictures when your baby is warm and well fed. Capture your baby’s personality with interesting expressions - smiles, yawns, frowns etc all make good photos. Cute ‘curled up in a ball’ shots work best when the baby is under 2 weeks old, and the peaceful sleeping or inquisitive look can be quite engaging.

6. Get in closer to the baby yourself rather than use the zoom feature. Try getting up on a stool to shoot from above or lay on the floor and get one at their level. Different angles mean different perspectives.

7. Get close-ups of different parts of your baby’s body. Little fingers and toes are great - but how about ears, that button nose, dimpled cheeks, even their little buddha belly.

8. Remember - if you want to use professional photographs you must have the permission of the photographer to reproduce them. We’re sorry but without written authorisation we can’t use them.
